A Quest for the Best Chicken Fried Vittles in Texas

Blogging the fair (late afternoon)
Indulging Mrs. CFT and tater tot's love of sweets, we grabbed a basket of fried brownies. The perfect balls were chocolatey and gooey with a nice hint of almond. The balls were drizzles with caramel sauce and chocolate powder.
The trend has been that the little plastic forks are inadequate for cutting (and sharing) the fried goodies. Better to use your hands and get them in single bites.
Chicken fried foods (steak or chicken) are in a class all their own. These are probably Texas' second favorite food (behind the "State Dish" of chili) and certainly iconic to any traveler on a road trip hungry for quick sustenance and a warm food coma. This site is devoted to exploring all that is good, breaded and fattening about chicken fried foods in Texas. Suggestions are most welcome for future visits -- my goal is to leave no hometown diner, drive-in, homestead or cafe out. Email suggestions to me at: chickenfriedtexan@gmail.com.
The Chicken Fried Texan lives in Houston with his wife (Mrs. Chicken Fried Texan) and sons (tater tot and brussel sprout). Email me at chickenfriedtexan@gmail.com
